La Sala del Doge
This room takes its name from the fact that a portrait of Doge Nicolò Sagredo once hung here.
The ceiling features a painting by Nicolò Bambini: La sconfitta dei vizi, depicting the god Apollo. The painting is framed by elegant stucco work from the early 18th century.
Nicolò Bambini (Venice 1651 – Venice 1736)
He was a pupil of Liberti and Mazzoni. Part of the faction of Venetian painters, he worked intensely painting altarpieces and paintings with historical, mythological and allegorical subjects. He worked in various Venetian palaces and is defined as an eclectic.
