Now an internationally renowned figurative artist trained at the American Academy of Fine Arts in New York, Lorenzo Quinn (Italy, ROME, 1966) thus begins a new phase of his journey without abandoning the themes and issues that are dearest to him, including the protection and the fate of the lagoon city, to which he has always been closely linked, and the deepest values ​​of our humanity.

On the occasion of the exhibition we will talk about artists who are themselves foreigners, immigrants, expatriates, diasporic, émigrés, exiles and refugees, in particular those who have moved between the South and the North of the world. The production of these artists will be the fulcrum of the Biennale Arte and will constitute the Contemporary Core of the Exhibition. The exhibition will also present a Historical Core, composed of 20th century works from Latin America, Africa, Asia and the Arab world.

“The Biennale Arte itself, as an international event with numerous official participations from different countries, has always represented a platform for showcasing works by foreigners from all over the world. Thus, the 60th International Art Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, the Biennale Arte 2024, will be a celebration of the foreign, the distant, the outsider, the queer and the indigenous. The eighth edition of the festival will take place from 14th – 22nd September 2024, and the Call for Applications will be launched in the Spring 2024.

Biennale College Musica is confirmed as an integrated project in the context of the Biennale Musica 2024. Eight new productions by international composers and performers will complete the Festival’s programme in an autonomous section dedicated to instrumental music, exploring the present and future borders of musical creativity.

The first edition, which recorded 15 thousand visitors over four days from 28 September to 1 October 2023, was characterized by an important national and international promotion and communication campaign, also through testimonials, sustainability awards, events institutional, workshops, creation of collateral events.
During the Italian High Craftsmanship Exhibition, there was the opportunity to discover the best of know-how in different sectors ranging from ceramics to fine fabrics, from blown glass works to precious stones, from jewelery to furniture, just to name a few. What was the beating heart of the naval and seafaring art of the Serenissima, was for four days a privileged showcase for admiring and purchasing a selection of very high quality artefacts with original designs, but also an opportunity to meet the artisans, discover their history and the creative process behind the birth of each single object.

The Italian High Craftsmanship Exhibition is promoted by the Municipality of Venice and organized by Vela S.p.a. as part of the project “Venice and its lagoon: management and valorisation of tourist flows” financed by the Ministry of Tourism for the valorisation of municipalities with a tourist-cultural vocation in whose territories sites recognized by UNESCO as world heritage sites are located.

The 42K, an international race over the Olympic distance of 42,195 km, the most classic and fascinating discipline of athletics; a marathon recognized globally by the IAAF and certified Bronze Label.
